Market Technical Behavior: SPY ETF / AAPL Price Volume Trend (PVT)
November 22 ( From Stockcharts , Columbus Dispatch, Barchart, TradingView  )
November 22: Big Picture: PVTs: A Weak Rally ?

This week research is more of a Technical Observation on a broad
basis that keep me cautious on US Stock Markets.

We observed that the Price Volume Trend of the SP500 tend to turn
earlier and or confirm or not the trend of the Mighty SP500 as you may
see in the charts below... The same idea for Apple Shares (AAPL).

Since we reached the previous bottom in price for SPY and Apple Shares
on November 16
(then creating a Major Support Trendline  - See charts below -
top Panels - Grey Thick Trendlines)
, the Price action was quite Bullish and as
expected according to Market Seasonals.

Apple Shares recovered sooner than the SP500 Index as Seasonals
was expecting it and also fueled by last week Goldman Story.

What I dislike is that that last Rally look Strong price wise but when
we look at historical PVT
(Price Volume Trend), then we have quite a
different picture.
(See charts below - Bottom Panels -  Blue Thin Trendlines)
Both SPY ETF and Apple Shares are trading within a Major Wedge (See charts below - top Panels - Grey Thick Trendlines);  as long as we are into that pattern, a wide range trade is expected... Breaking one side or the other will bring a violent technical move... As usual, I will keep you posted in the Daily Comments...

Having Rallys with weaker Volumes and Corrections with stronger Volumes is not a good Market Behavior as we have seen since August 2015.

Price Volume Trend - a Definition

PVT is a leading indicator for future price movements. Although interpretation of PVT is similar to the OBV and the Accumulation/Distribution indicators, PVT more accurately demonstrates the flow of money. PVT adds only a proportional amount of volume to the indicator, whereas OBV adds the same amount of volume not considering whether the market closes up a fraction of a point or triples in price.

1.Rising PVT means new money, sometimes referred to as "smart money, " is flowing into the marketplace. The result will be that the present trend will continue. Accelerating PVT rise indicates that "the masses" are joining the new price trend.
2.If the PVT then levels off, it is often an early warning that the trend is finishing.
3.Declining PVT indicates that the smart money is liquidating.
4.If the PVT moves sideways or falls while the price is rising, the increase in price is not confirmed and a market top or bottom may be indicated.
